Waltham Forest Council owns and manages this ancient, former coppice woodland. It covers two adjacent hills and has many hornbeam and mature oaks, plus wild cherry and rowan and a good number of wild service trees. Bluebells and wood anemones flower near the woodland edge in spring.

Visiting

Between Chingford and Walthamstow. Access to Larks Wood from Inks Green, New Road and Larkshall Road and to Ainslie Wood from Royston Avenue, Woodside Gardens or Ropers Road.

Highams Park station is about 600m away. Buses run along New Road.

Accessible at all times.

Spring for bluebells and other early flowers.
